Our commitment is reflected in active partnerships like the one with Eskom, where we visited the Emalahleni Child and Family Welfare and the Elkana Educational Centre in Mpumalanga.

We believe powerful outreach creates a lasting legacy of empowerment. This is demonstrated through initiatives like the playground project at Mmagobana Combined School, where apprentices designed and built a new play area. This dual-impact approach offered hands-on skills to learners while delivering a joyful, safe space for the school’s children.
Through tangible acts of skills transfer and community collaboration, from building playgrounds to responding swiftly to crises like the KZN floods, our outreach efforts aim to uplift and empower for years to come.

We are proud to partner with leading academic institutions to deliver high-impact programmes that make a real difference in the lives of young South Africans. This includes the SETH Programme with North-West University. We support the Science, Engineering, Technology, and Health (SETH) programme.
This after-school enrichment initiative is designed to develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and time-management skills, broadening learners’ horizons and exposing them to the exciting world of SETH.
TRAC Programme with Stellenbosch University
We also partner with Stellenbosch University on their TRAC programme, a national non-profit initiative dedicated to uplifting Physical Science and Mathematics education in South African secondary schools. Our support is focused on Grade 11 and 12 learners at 10 Mpumalanga schools, providing learners with the tools they need to succeed in these subjects.
Since 2020, we have invested over R3 million in the TRAC programme, with an additional R1.5 million planned before the end of the 2025 financial year.
We have seen a significant increase in learner performance, with many students gaining acceptance to top universities and receiving full bursaries. In 2024, the programme supported a young woman who achieved a perfect 100% in Mathematics – a testament to the transformative power of this initiative.

In 2021, Steinmüller Africa partnered with Eskom to clear university debts for over 400 students, enabling them to continue their studies without financial burdens. Our ongoing commitment reflects our belief in accessible education for all.

Our transformative programmes, like the recent initiative in Mpumalanga, assessed 66 Grade 12 learners for training as “A” Class Welders, offering a direct career path. We also consider candidates for roles like Pipe Fitter, Rigger Apprentice, and “B” Class Welder, ensuring diverse career opportunities.
